The Driver’s License Section works in unity with the Idaho Department of Transportation to issue driver’s license services in Idaho City and Horseshoe Bend. DMV hours are 8a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday.
No appointments required.
Driver’s License testing by 3:30 p.m.
CDL License testing by 3:00 p.m.

New Drivers License
If your license has been expired for over 2 years you will need to take the written and Road tests. If you are moving from out of state you will need to bring your out of state Drivers license along with proof of your primary residence with your name on it, original birth certificate, or active passport. Under the age of 17 you will need to be accompanied with your parent.
Renewals
Between the ages of 21-62 years of age you may inquire a 4 year or 8 year driver’s license. 62 years and older may receive a 4 year license.
Age 18 and 21, your driver’s license or ID card will expire five days after your birthday.
Duplicate Licenses
If your Idaho driver’s license is lost, damaged, or destroyed, you may obtain a duplicate. You will need to bring an acceptable photo document; this could be your passport, school yearbook, student activity card, or military I.D. card. You will also need your Social Security Number.
